In an effort to provide the best policing, the City of Longview has been divided into three districts with six individual beats: District A contains beats 10 and 20, District B contains beats 30 and 40 and District C contains beats 50 and 60. There is a Patrol Lieutenant assigned to each district and a specific Patrol Sergeant responsible for each beat. Patrol Officers are assigned to a beat for one year and they work in 8-hour shifts. Overlapping shifts are utilized to ensure complete coverage for the City during shift changes.
